Quilting Gallery - Show & Tell

Just entered my first quilt hanging in the weekly submission - here's the link for anyone that might be interested.  There are so many great submissions sent in I am hoping it is well received.  For this week's Show & Tell:

The theme is Remembering Veterans. This can be a quilt you've created in memory of a veteran or a quilt created for a veteran (such as Quilts of Valor).  Here's the link for those who may wish to submit.  What a GREAT site!

This is how it all began..... two pieces of fabric scraps turned into stars on white muslin.  I then added a whimsical ribbon and some stars in the center and quilted from there

Where it all began

Once that was completed I then embellished it with some decorative stitches.....

Next comes the hand painting.........

Quilt for Cancer 2013

In between completing Jeremy's quilt, our family wedding and a number of visitors during the summer months, I also found some time to create a Quilt for Cancer - Named this one "Hearts of Hope"

Let It Snow!!!

Completed the first of several projects I brought to Arizona with me.  It's 90 degrees out and my first project was to teach myself to paper piece and completed a few paper piecing projects I had purchased a few years ago.  This one titled Let It Snow - a pattern I purchased in Alberta.  It was embellished with decorative patterns, Art Glitter - faux snow and white glitter, hand painted snowflakes, and red sari yarn.

Summer Projects

Along with the completed Fall Mug Rugs I've completed a number of other projects over the summer.  Jeremy's quilt is finally put together and it was quite the project.  Following CRAFTY's Block of the Month and quilting in free motion with Leah Day was quite the project as I increased the number of blocks and made a few of my own.  It ended up as a Queen Size Quilt as you go project and I am so glad it is done.  I began the blocks in Arizona in 2012 and completed it the night before we left for Arizona in 2013. I am sure hoping he loves it.  It was his birthday gift but the quilting was put on the back burner until after our family wedding.

Mug Rugs!

I've been late in getting things posted. Our mug rugs have been exchanged.  Here's what I sent to Rebecca in Mississppi.......and she likes them.  I'm so happy - this was my first exchange with the Online Quilting Gallery.  So nice to have made a new quilty friend.

and here's what I received from Rebecca........the bag  and the needle book are awesome!  Thanks Rebecca - I love them.  Don't know how she ever knew I loved Angels - must have been Divine Intervention.
